Good luck - you night have more luck on plenty of fish or some other dating website though. Without wanting to sound churlish, I feel that you might not want to attract women who are in trouble, it sounds rather like a mutually beneficial arrangement.. Welcome to the forum.

there were a few on POF--but mostly already settled here--so they were just as choosy as the UK birds on the site.

You're assuming the poster is looking specifically and only for a Filipina - which raises another point of course - perhaps the poster is specifically looking for a much younger partner - in which case, unless he is very rich he is unlikely to find a western woman willing to take the, err, bait.

On the subject of POF, don't forget that women get bombarded with messages from lots of knuckle draggers, many of whom are unable to walk and talk concurrently. I once opened a dating website profile as a woman to see what happened. 200+ messages in a weekend was the result - and many of them were from obvious head cases. If I was in that situation, I would be choosy as well.

thats one of the problems with a free dating site--you get what you pay for.

My Filipina ex-wife found her present partner on Plenty of Fish and I must assume that they are very happy together as I certainly don't want her back!

I wish people would stop "carp"ing on about POF website and all the old "Trouts"on there, Cod knows they are frying(trying) to catch the best they can,everyone is packed in the site like Sardines behaving like Pilchards!!!

You make a reasonable point, and it's something women have to deal with on dating websites. But I know of many men who are quite competent and they seem to attract the 'head cases' only interested in playing the field and find it difficult attracting good women. And because they are starved of replies, they give them too much of a chance! I'm not saying it's all easy for women with online dating in the UK. But it is easier. They can get a date any time they want, which isn't true for most men. Of course, a date of quality is a different matter, which you allude to.

Dating in the UK - which is now dominated by online dating - has become insane and fraught with hazards for all. Let's be honest: Everyone in life looks for the 'best deal' for themselves and if someone prefers a younger woman and is preferred to invest time and money and affection in a genuine relationship, along with 100% honesty, and doing everything above board - and the lady in question is genuinely happy with this - and there is love - what odds?

Well, I'm in danger of straying into a contentious area here but here goes:

I notice that the poster is 63 years old. I am guessing, but I expect that he is looking for a much younger partner. Perhaps he feels that a Filipina in general, and perhaps one 'in trouble' in particular, would be more likely to be receptive to the (presumably large) age difference.

We had a lively debate about this some time ago because I proposed that some of these women may have been swayed to discount the age difference by the western wallet factor.

To be honest, I don't think the 'in trouble' clause was necessary either unless the OP harbours the fantasy of rescuing a damsel in distress who will show her undying gratitude by passionately sharing her bounteous assets.
