i am applying for my gf to come over on a spouse visa, but we both rather just live together, main reason children so can we apply to live together or do we have to get married, can we just be partners
To go down the partner route you have to demonstrate you have lived together akin to husband and wife for a minimum of 2 years. Ie lived under the same roof etc etc
daft innit--yet same sex couples can enter a civil partnership without any kind of marriage ceremony and apply for a settlement visa with it.
so we are forced to get married then, thats crazy and unfair, but it is what i thought, we would have to do, civil ceremony only for same sex, hows that work
Here you go but as I stated in an earlier reply the trigger is, and this applies to all couples regardless of sexual orientation. Taken from the link below You need to show that you have been living with your partner for at least two years in a relationship similar to marriage. You will need to provide documentary evidence confirming this. https://www.visalogic.net/uk/uk-unm...married Partner visa (also,'settled in the UK'.
