So, my Filipina fiancé and I will be getting married here in the UK. She is currently on her fiancé visa having arrived first week of August. We hope to marry first week in January. The registry office has informed me that there could be a 70 day notice period not 28 for the home office to approve the marriage. Can anyone confirm if this is the case, as I had thought because she's already on a fiancé visa the reason for her being here was to marry and that 28 days was the norm. Many thanks for any advice offered.

Thanks Matt, subsequently a small update. So we have registered the wedding and the its 28 days notice because of the fiancé visa, and not 70 days.
