As title suggests we plan to marry in my fiancés province in early feb 2018 then as soon as possible after apply for her spouse visa for her to join me here in the u.k. Is there a time threshold on how long we have been married before applying for said visa? Have I got to change my bank accounts as I use an online service operated by master card and to seems there is no logo etc on top of them just card ending in number and the list of transactions and date at the top etc. In addition to being in full time salaried employment I've just started up as a self employed sole trader in order to on paper better meet the financial requirements as a sponsor however the business account in the company name is run again by the master card (cash plus) online company so the statements for that account will be of a similar description so with this all in mind is the only answer to change as soon a possible both accounts? my personal current account and the business account too?.is there any point in sending an email including copies of said statements just to see if this would be acceptable when it comes to applying or not? My next question is as the business has only just been set up as from march 1st then when we come to apply as soon as we can after the wedding in beginning of feb 2018 will there be sufficient documentary evidence of the business accounts to be counted as additional funds to be added to my 'on paper' salary to meet the requirement?…..hope you can help cheers….Adam Thomas and Gerlie Abacahin oh and will we have to change her name on her passport to her married name before she can apply for the spouse via

You can apply for spouse visa once you get your marriage certificate, there is no certain time frame, so long as you're ready then you can apply. For simplicity sake you might want to change your bank as you say so it will be more easy. You said, you are in full time salaried employment, isn't that enough to meet the £18,600 financial requirement? If it is, then forget about self-employment as that is a bit complicated.

And it's a good idea to change her name before applying for the visa so do that :)

Hi and thanks for the reply my salaried position came to just under 18000 for last year and given that they take your lowest paid month and times it by 12 to give your salary my worst month times 12 would bring it to about 14000 so quite a shortfall on its own hence the need for the self employment money to make it up.I had a look at the application form which she has to fill out and it asks how often you see your partner well we met in january of this year and we intend to marry during my 5 week visit in jan/feb of next year as my salaried job doesn't allow me to take any lengthy time off except between 4 jan and march 1st each year as my place of work closes for 6 weeks then my question is though will the fact that a year will have gone by between us actually visiting each other pose a problem although we daily keep in touch on vibe,Facebook and video chat and write weekly letters to each other to and I'm financially supporting her each month too? thanks again.

From what I've read online, you have to be self-employed for at least a year for it to be considered as part of your financial requirement. If you're an employee, you only need 6 months worth of pay slips etc. If your salary doesn't meet 18,600 GBP, you can show your non-employment income (rental income etc.) to add to your employment income. You can also use your cash savings to add to meeting the financial requirement.

I think you should check this out to see what you can do about your financial requirement situation: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa...708/Appendix_FM_1_7_Financial_Requirement.pdf

Don't you have any savings to cover the shortfall? It won't be a problem not seeing her for a year. My fiance and I first met 4 months after our relationship began and then our next meeting was after 15 months so that was more than a year. Just need to prove that you are constantly keeping in touch with each other. So always keep those records in facbeook, Skype, WhatsApp or whatever you use. They will be useful :)
