Maybe it is time to think before travelling to the Philippines?

    We are practically neighbours!

Did you catch the story about the Ozamis Police Department being replaced en masse after the Mayor was tipped off that he was going to be arrested?

We have noticed a huge increase in Chinese and Korean visitors to our parts..
Our place is chocked up with Chinese free divers.. It seems that this type of diving skill is a fast growing part of Filipino tourism around the reefs and coast line.
They seem to want to stay on average for about 2 months whilst they train and they really do spend lots of money..
The Chinese Gov have just announced that it will lift its travel warnings to the majority of the Philippines. With the new Panglao airport well on the way I predict direct flights from China and Korea..
The whole look of Panglao is about to change IMO.

I read somewhere about the arrest but didn't know about the mass replacements, honestly I'm not surprised though.

I'd only last 5 metres. Too much smoking in my younger days! I'll just stick with a tank on my back.

Holiday booked, will be visiting Cebu, Bohol / Panglao, Legazpi, Bagiuo and of course Manila. Even bringing my mum and step dad! Not too concerned about the EJK issue in relation to our safety, looking forward to some great weather!

I hope your parents wouldn't mind the warmth here. :) Enjoy!

Thanks, they'll be fine (I hope!). I warned them about the heat already and we'll make sure we tailor the trip to accommodate them, hence a break in Bagiuo. But it'll be a very hot as we're there for the month of April :)

The parents of my Fiancé hate the heat. British sensitive skin you know. Guess that's one reason we preferred to get the wedding done in UK :)

I told my GF about the HO concerns in Mindanao, she dismissed it as absolute tosh.

For this part of Mindanao I have to totally agree with her @DJB. I'm in tubod and absolutely no change in the way I have been treated by the locals anywhere I go. :):)
