My cat was run over by my neighbours' son's car today. She was hiding under the car because another neighbour has cats that attack her. It was really distressing to see her suffer and she died on the way to the veterinary hospital. The neighbours' son as well as his mum and dad were crying and the son went back home early to the south coast because he was so upset. I still have another cat, luckily. I could not bear to be without a cat but I don't want to get another cat because of the army of cats next door. In fact, my one remaining cat is sitting on my lap now. He is getting on in years but still fit and healthy.
Sorry to hear about your cat Howerd, they do have a tendency as you know for hiding under cars. I feel for the family too, they must be having feelings of guilt even though it was nobodies fault. At least you have one companion left to keep you company at least.
I still have one cat but it is very lonely with just one cat and I think he is lonely too. I may get another cat after I have been to The Philippines at Xmas but my Mahal does not like cats so much so I will probably wait until she comes to the UK. But I rally don't fancy having a rottweiler in the House!
