My fiancée is an English language teacher in Cebu. She may soon be teaching IELTS where she works, having just passed her licensure exam and her employers noting her business background. So, she will probably be teaching IELTS for Business.

What I am hoping is that she will be required to take an IELTS test before she is allowed to teach - that will save some money on getting a UK Visa!

Another wise move by Mr Howerd, "you're not behind the door" as my mother used to say :D

You would think that an IELTS teacher wouldn't need a test at all, but there you go. Maybe she can just test herself

Unfortunately, where she works is not a test centre!

Just something i remembered when i filled out my registration for IELTS at the British council, i was asked why i am taking the test, and it must be specified. Now if you are taking the test for a certain company, it is also required to specify it becoz the result and the certificate is to be requested by the company and not you, unless you are taking it for Visa application purpose.
I hope she could have both benefit.. (but checked on it also, i might be wrong .

To give you an additional idea, to be an IELTS teacher you must make 8 band score or ( a 9, which is perfect band score) in all 4 aspects , writing, listening , reading and sp0eaking .... practice, practice is the mantra of british council reviwe team for it is the only way to get a good score. Congratulations to your wife in advance .
Happy to share i got an 8 for speaking :)

    Hi Nickel...

My fiancée has taught at a language school for a few years now. She does take English tests quite frequently which are marked in-house. She generally scores 80%+. But she would have to take her IELTS test elsewhere, such as at the British Council, in order to get her UK Visa. I know she has spoken to her work colleague (who she shares a house with) about that. I am just hoping that she will be required to take the IELTS test at a recognised test centre before she is allowed to teach IELTS.
