That online shopping link you supplied Norm is for Lazada.com.ph and they have been slated around the web for terrible customer service and what often seems to be a scam! Here is one of the many reviews I found.

Got Samsung S3, hubby got the note in white has to be bigger than my mobile. My son had my iPhone 4S 64GB white after he was mugged with his Blackberry 9900 in black, and daughter has blackberry 9900 white.

    Speaking of mobile phones;
My son was mugged last May 9, 2012 on his way to school, nothing happens as it wasn't insured, the guy knew he has good phone and did it again last June 21, 2012 after 49 days. I gave my son my iPhone 4S as it has tracking device and insured both my children's mobiles for precaution. So the guy came to my son when he was on his way to school again with his sister and friends there are 6 of them but he only approached my son and pointed a knife on him like what he did before and asked him "Do you remember me?" my son did recognized him but was so scared and think fast what will happen if he say yes? just as well he watch lots of TV crime series that when you recognized the criminals they tend to kill you! so he said "no!" then the mugger said "you used to bully my brother!" my son said "no! I don't bully anyone!" so the mugger said "just give me your phone!" He gave it as he remembers me telling him "this is just a thing I can always replace it but not your life!" and he also remember how much I grieved with his brother in Philippines as I gave him Nokia Lumia 8800 as birthday present and he was mugged and was killed 6 months ago!
So the guy mugged my son, after the incident my daughter called me and say "Mummy! my brother is mugged again!" so I called the police and told them I can track the phone and they picked up my son from his school and I have been on the phone for more than 2 hours as they were chasing after the mugger based on my iPad2 tracking device using "find iPhone applications. in other words they caught the bloody mugger and was put in jail for 2 counts of robbery and 2 counts of carrying deadly weapons! I must say the police here are very helpful and very assisting! :like:

Oh! this is not the first time it happens to us! we were victimized of burglar as well! we have a Labrador dog who never bark as he think he is also a kid! :p one morning 5's am he was barking and we were surprised about it. we heard noise but my son assumed it is the garbage collector but then he realized it is Wednesday and they only come on Sunday, so it's probably not them! he looked at the window and saw the burglar arse hanging out the toilet window as he broke the glass to get in. So my son whispered "Mummy there's someone broke in to our house!" so we called the police and I took the kids outside the house and our poor Labrador was shaking! :p he is so friendly, whenever he sees people he licks them so he is pretty much harmless, what can he do with a burglar? lick him to death? :erm: the police came after 3 MINUTES! but of course the burglar already know we knew he is inside the house so he locked himself inside the toilet to give him enough time to escape. We couldn't do anything as we did not see his face! so there's nothing to testify, my son couldn't even describe how big is his arse! :p the burglar only managed to take my daughter's wii and all the games.

The thing is, here in UK you can never hit them if you caught them breaking into your house, unlike in Philippines you can shoot them and kill them, if they are trespassers! But better not to be in that situation as I would prefer to save my children's life than my stuff! for me my children are my everything! :D

Things have changed recently, you can defend your-self when confronted with thieves and other arse holes.
In the PR foreigners cant shoot intruders, correct me if wrong. We can't have guns, not that I want one.:erm:

here in UK? I work as volunteer with victim support but we are informed no one can fight back any intruders! We have many cases, like this lady was burgled she was pointed a gun on her face with pillow and her grown up son was in the house but he couldn't do anything as they knew they are not supposed to fight even self defence!

In Philippines Oh! Yes you can! ;) if you are married to a Filipino you can get a license and get away with it for self defence :like:
but of course this depends on your connections though! :D

People have always been allowed to use "reasonable force", though that term has not correctly been highlighted in legal circles till recently..

Though I have always sworn by the old saying "It is better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6". In other words, it is the safety of you and your loved ones that comes first whether you run or fight, there is no shame in running and no prize for fighting, just do what your instinct instructs you to do..

After a quick bit of research, it would appear that it is correct that we foreigners are not allowed to own guns, further it is a bad idea to ever even touch one or let a fingerprint get near one.

I have (British) friends over there who have photos of themselves handling all kinds of handguns and automatic weapons, my pals son married into a fairly well off family a bit north of Manila and they take family protection seriously, they appear to be armed to the teeth.

I'm not sure my friend is fully aware of the legal position regards handling guns over there.

Personally while I can see the protective side of owning a hand weapon, I would not trust anyone in my family handling one, simply due to my doubts over their competence with such a device, lovely people but not much common sense.

The thing is I came from Philippines and very much aware of people who are targeting me so I can tell when they are after me! Once I observed a guy following me around from one bus to the other waiting for the opportunity to rob me, so I spoken to someone out loud "some criminals are so stupid! Cant even tell if their target victim knows what he is up to!" so the bastard walk away! :blah:

I'm an ex Infantry soldier, but would not touch any fire arms again.
But would have a couple of devil dogs to rip up any intruders.

Dogs are generally advised over there, our Spanish neighbour has a whole troupe of them, they drive me mad with the barking every morning and half way through the night but I understand why he has them.

Personally I am not fond of dogs though, I never liked their non stop dependence on a master, it's not in my nature to be the owner or the boss in that sense, I can see their value over there though.

Geez! You haven't seen a dog like my Labrador then! As I said the only time he barked was when there's an intruder in our house! My children goes to school whole week and I go to college and we are out from 6am to 5pm. No problem the neighbours didn't know we have a dog! He is so adorable! :violin:
