Nanny/housekeeper needed

    Hi,
    I'm looking for a nanny for my two kids (3 year old son and 8month daughter) and a bit of housework. we live in exeter (Devon, UK), salary of 900£ /month working 6 days a week. Looking for someone already in UK and happy to start ASAP. Anyone interested please email on talpur.marvi@yahoo.com

    So 12 hours a day 6 days per week on less than 3 quid an hour. I would not call that a job more like slave labor. Have you not heard of a minimum wage. I get more than that sat in my cage all week getting fed bananas.

    I don't think minimum wage applies to residential nannies, for obvious reasons - they get free board and lodging and pay no Council Tax.

    This is how I read it so basically it's saying a friend of the family

    If a nanny is provided with accommodation, an Employer can offset some of the cost of this against the nanny's wage for national minimum wage purposes. It should be noted however that the maximum allowable offset is £5.08 for each day accommodation is provided (£35.56 per week). If a nanny is residential and lives as part of the family, the minimum wage does not apply, so it is not necessary to use the offset.

    Please note, only an employee who lives as part of the family (e.g. Eats meals with the family, socialises with the family and friends of the family) is not covered by the National Minimum Wage. All other employees are covered by the National Minimum Wage even if they live-in.
