Hi guys, A bit of help please. How long does it take to get a national insurance number? I've rang up the number what was in the gov.uk website, they've sent an application form, we've filled it up and sent it back asap. It's been more than a week now and still no reply. Just wondered how long it normally takes to be processed etc.? Thanks in advance!
It shouldn't be too long before they ask you in for an interview, bear in mind the interview may take place quite a long way from your home as most of us found. One important thing to remember, once you have started the process of obtaining your NI number you can start work, you just need to tell your employer that you are entitled to work in the UK and that you have started the process of getting a NI number, see the notes in the link below; https://www.gov.uk/apply-national-insurance-number
