It’s been few months on and off this forum,
So what’s been happing in my life: me and my lovely GF was going to get married in Hong Kong this month, but 2 months ago her employer cancelled her contract (Long story)
I’m glad that she out of her contract, but she was sick of staying at home and doing nothing so she got a job in manila (she is happy)
But the problem we have is she working 6 days a week and we are still thinking of getting married but now in manila as she is working there.
All the paperwork was done to get married in HK now I will have to start all over again and I have no idea where to start.
I will be going end of February and we are thinking to keep the wedding in May.
    HELP

just have a civil marriage so you wont have to have tons of hassle and it should be fine.. it took me 2 weeks to get al the documents ready before getting married.. you still have more time to prepare your paper works. goodluck

If you have all the paperwork in place,
why not have the wedding and honeymoon in Hong Kong this month?

    Best of luck!

    Hi there
Do you know what documents is required as I’m thinking of going to manila in February and getting all the paperwork done before the wedding in May.

    Hi dave
Yes we had everything ready up to October when she left HK and moved back home, and before she moved back she cancelled all the arrangements as she don’t want to go back.
So it has to be in manila now.
Do you know what paperwork is needed as I have no idea.
Thank you both of you :)

My advice is that you stick with HK as there is much less paperwork, and if she goes back she will be going back as a tourist, not as an OFW, so she should feel very different about it.

I said to her the same thing but she don’t want to go to HK at all and I don’t want to force her into something she don’t want to do.
She said she is happy with simple wedding in manila.
So I will have to start doing my homework and get all the paperwork right.

Not yet BigMac as its to much to take in, but im also thinking about surinder singh route.
So I’m little confused as I got told that I can't exercise EU treaty right in the country you are a citizen of.
