Hello my husband and i been in the philippines since 2021 and he stayed here for 1 year under balikabayan privileged then we extend it again, and now its time to renew his 9a visa and that is for another 6 months but we want him to stay here permanently. What can we do? We have a financial capacity problem but we bought our own house..

13a visa route looks like the way to go and believe should lead to permenant residency.

I never got asked about financial capacity. Just apply for the 13A spouse visa.

I only know the permanent spouse visa. I never showed my bank details. But...
    • He has sufficient financial capacity to support a family and will not become a public burden.

They will see what you give them. I did do a search and not defined anywhere on the quick search.

If you have income sufficient to support family then probably enough. SSRV requirements are Required pension of at least US$ 800 for single / US$1,000 for couple and I suspect the 13a requirement would be less than that if they even ask for that info. SSRV is for non-filipinos not spouses of filipino so would expect this requirement to be on the high side.

I take it he does not have a UK state pension as yet , surely he will qualify for that when he reaches pension age ?.

Yeah.. At 65 or 67 i think.. Hes got a state pension.. If we apply for another 6 months extension we will have to apple after 6 months again. It will cost us a lot.. Im just not sure about 13a visa.. My hubby really love staying in the philippines.. He just loves everything in here.. Im just hoping we will be able to apply for 13a visa without asking for financial capacity

Skip to 7.15 of video below which would also sum up my personal advice on this so called "requirement".
To this day,I have not yet heard of anyone being refused on financial grounds.
You will need to keep his new tourist visas up to date whilst his new 13a application is being processed.
