Hi, I just want some advise if its a good decision for me to change my philippine passport surname to my husband. I had a passport that has a surname of me as a single. Now, I booked an appointment to DFA to change my surname to my husband surname as I wished to come in UK as an Visitor Visa first. Please advise and need really help.
Tbh, it doesn’t really make any difference at all if you change your name or not so you can do as you like if you want to change it or not.
Thank you so much @Brom27. Can I ask also, if where to go if my husband wants to register our marriage in the UK and who are the people incharge if he wants to change his marital status? Thank you
Were you married in the Philippines? I don’t think he needs to register the marriage, I’m not really sure. Let’s wait what others say about it.
The UK no longer registers marriages entered into abroad. Your Philippine Marriage Certificate (PSA version) will be recognised.
How about my husband wants to change his marital staus, where to go? my husband is not familiar with that stuff.
His marital status has already been changed as evidenced by your PSA marriage certificate. There is nothing further for him to do.
If you are referring to changing his status in the UK for tax reasons he can go onto the UKgov website and advise there. Other than that not much else for him to do.
