I do wish people would spell-check their crude little 'posters'.

I was laughing at the eejits saying they wont pay on principle. Some have resorted as Dom says, to just simply pushing their supermarket trolley home and then posting a picture on social media. Then no doubts, they will abandon the said trolleys/baskets in the street. Childish morons.

I work in a supermarket, and the vast majority of customers pay up, the very few that do complain get told its down the Welsh Government and all money paid for these bags go to charity.

At the end of the day, we have a problem with carrier bags being a massive blight on the environment. This 5p charge will sort that out once and for all. I read somewhere that since the charge started in Wales, usage has dropped 70%.

Tesco here in Glos is cheeky. We know that the 5p charge started on 5th October. They didn't have 'free' bags left a week before that. So we had to avail the bigger carrier bags that costs 10p. o_O

    • Sainsburys seems to have the right idea with their sturdy 5p "bag for life".
    • Why should corrupt charities get anything from this?
    • What ever happened to bio-degradable carrier bags?
