And from the title I am not talking about the double chocolate chip variety... A new law has gone live demanding that websites that use cookies - specifically tracking cookies have to declare it and make it known to users. Well, as you all know this site uses cookies for when you log in and save your password and stuff, but some of the plugins have cookies as well.. The Facebook connect comes with a link to Facebook, so if you are logged into Facebook then they know you are here. As do Google if you use their services as this site uses Googles Adverts throughout. So does the Skyscanner app, though it is an advert for that website, I don't get paid for it and use it mainly as a tool (and it has been modied of late). Anyway, this new law coming into play means we have to make users aware and to agree to continue. Although a passive agreement will pass Government standards (by continuing to use this site you agree...) and so there has been a little notification box added to the site. You can dismiss it, but for now I am going to make it constant, then in future amend it so regular users don't get that little notice. So.. Every website you use that is based in the UK now needs your passive consent to continue!!!
Nothings changed really.. Just the law! All these websites throwing out their annoying pop ups are still doing what they did last year and before those annoying pop ups.
