To the moderator, thanks for accepting my membership. I am fairly new here and was wondering if there's any Filipino networking/groups/association around Winchester area?

hi and welcome, my wife just found a few friends by visiting the local flipino food store. It did not take long but I'm not sure about the Winchester area. A nice place though with a nice Christmas market.

I befriended a Filipina working in Tesco, months before my wife arrived. I then found a church which also had a Filipina - again, before my wife arrived. Soon after my wife arrived we went to an Asian store it met three more Filipinas. My wife met 21 Filipinas in her first six weeks here. She goes out at least twice a week to see her new friends.

Yes, Winchester is only 30 minutes away from Southampton where I have seen many Filipinos, maybe because of the cruise ships sailing from Southampton where a lot of Filipinos are crew.

Hello Lissa, welcome aboard British Filipino :welcome:

There are significant numbers of active Filipino associations and communities in many areas of the UK

    Good luck seeking them out.

Thanks for all your replies, we moved here in August after 21 years in HK, in a beautiful town called Alresford but I think I'm the only Filipino here hahaha (for my sake hopefully not). I still work for a HK company and goes back to HK every other month so that's where I get my doze of all things Filipino . But will be great to meet kababayans here as well. I miss the Filipino parties!! We are closer to Winchester than Southampton but will sure take all your advice and go search those stores.
