    Six to nine months is a good time frame which I'm sure you can work with, the £3,500 is probably what you expected, I hope its worth every penny and the lawyer is true to his word. Like the old saying goes, "its not what you know its who you know." :)

    Good luck, love conquers all :)

    Please keep us informed on how it goes, it could be very useful to others here in the same boat as you.

    Will do Timmers....... we have to pay half up front to get it started then can pay in 2 installments the 2nd half........fingers crossed.
    There has been no mention regarding her having a western partner, and the annulment is being filed in a different city to where my GF is from, she will have to go back for the psychological test (she might fail that lol) and 1st hearing then everything else her lawyer will do for her while she continues to work abroad.

    hopefully that's that, then i have the 2nd saga of getting her a visa for UK etc etc........ I'm not sure which sounds the easiest out of the two?

    Don't worry about the settlement visa for now (people here will help you with that), concentrate on the annulment for now :)

    You're heading in the right direction.

    The annulment process in the Philippines has always been a bit of a grey area and everyone involved in the process seems to fumble their way through it. There doesn't appear to be a step by step process in place for it that can be properly documented..

    I couldn't believe it when my now wife told me there was no divorce in the Philippines and she would have to get an annulment. There is only the Philippines and the Vatican City that do not allow divorce, its about time they caught up with the rest of the world.

    Your British husband would have to initiate the divorce and divorce you for the divorce to be recognized in the Philippines.

    See what @bigmac says.

    Have a read of the article below, it gives some good information on Philippine annulments/divorce, unfortunately none of us on the forum are lawyers so we can only give you a little guidance from our own experiences;

    its called a foreign divorce--the only one recognised in the filis. your non-filipino husband has to be the plaintiff.

    Go for the second price quoted,i suggest.It's the normal prevailing rate ,but must be a lawyer with expertise on FAMILY CODE.
