    Hello and welcome. You will find most of the answers you need posted on this forum in the Immigration section.

    Be warned that the UK does not like to issue visit visas to Filipinas - it is fairly cheap to apply but you will probably be rejected. This is because Filipinos have a dreadful reputation for overstaying.

    A fiancée visa is more expensive and requires more paperwork but it stands a higher chance of success if you meet the criteria.

    John. I think you will find that in both instances your fiance will need to apply in the Philippines. It is her visa and she will be the applicant.

    You have come to the right shop! Most of us have been through it and some of us (not me!) are experts.

    Either a Spouse Visa or a Fiancee Visa. The difference being whether you get married in the Philippines or the UK. Having said that it is only the best option if you want the commitment of marriage.

    How long have you been partners? There is a Civil Partners rout too but not sure how well that works.

    so do you think i would have a better chance for her to come apply for a fiancée visa rather than a visiting visa?

    Statistically, yes. Visit visas are often refused whereas only a small quantity of spouse or fiancee visa are refused. You have to meet their criteria though for the spouse or fiancee visa.

    1) Income minimum requirement of 18600 pa
    2) Somewhere to live in the UK
    3) Ongoing relationship and that you have met face to face.

    And you have to prove all three with documentary evidence ( paperwork )

    See below from UKBA website:

    "Your fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner must be:

    a British Citizen in the UK;

    or

    present and settled in the UK.

    The requirements are:

    you and your partner must be aged 18 or over at the date of application;
    your partner must not be related to you in a way that means you could not marry in UK law;
    you and your partner must have met in person;
    your relationship must be genuine and subsisting;
    you must be seeking entry to the UK to allow your marriage or civil partnership to take place;
    any previous relationship must have permanently broken down (this does not apply to certain polygamous relationships);
    you and your partner must intend to live together permanently in the UK;
    you must meet the financial requirements; and
    you must meet the English language requirement.
    "

    Welcome! :)

    Do you want her to just visit or do you want to get married already? Big difference in visa category depending on what you want.
