Cathay Pacific (which is the 2014 airline of the year) has a new route commencing 8 December 2014 from Manchester Airport to Hong Kong. This then gives excellent connecting flights from Hong Kong direct to Manila and Cebu. It is the first time that Cathay Pacific has offered flights to Hong Kong from a UK airport, other than Heathrow. Seat availability is better than most other flights available in the Xmas period - I guess it takes time for new routes to become popular. That means the possibility of discounting between now and Xmas. I intend to make use of this new route this Xmas.
Excellent news, about time Manchester had some HK routes, even better when you can connect into Cebu rather than Manila.
