Hello, I have been talking to a girl online for a few months and would like to understand the rules for applying for a fiance visa. I meet the income requirement, what will her requirements be?
Her requirement is to not already be married and to have a passport. Apart from that, it's all down to you as sponsor.
As you mentioned, meet up first then see how it is. Make sure she is not married (she cant apply for fiance visa if she is, and annulment takes forever). On her part, the home office will require her to take an english test to prove that she can speak basic english. Then tb test. Both are very easy to get.
Hi Steve , welcome to the forum . First step is to meet the girl , preferably in Philippines , and see how compatible you are in real life . From my experience , people can be very different online , to how they are in real life. Sometimes it's easy to fall in love when you meet someone you " click" with online . I guess she isn't the first girl that you have chatted with ? To be honest , I would forget about fiancé visa for now , and concentrate on meeting the girl , and maybe her family and friends , spend as long as possible together , then go from there . Also , sorry , I have to say it . Do not send any money ever , to somebody that you haven't met in real life . Many people will tell you this from experience . Good luck .
Thanks for the advice, a lot of the girls seem to have jobs where getting time off isnt easy which makes planning to meet that much harder.
Follow your heart as opportunities for happiness are few and far between. Just keep one hand on your wallet. The absolutely many genuine girls are interested in finding happiness, and in some cases security true, but they are no different from people all over the world. There are though anecdotal horror stories of some people "handling" multiple people at one time as a criminal enterprise. Be safe but enjoy
My hubby (fiance then) and I met after 3 months of continuous and everyday skyping. We were even sleeping with the vid the on . It's on how you feel and how sure you are.
I think that different people , will have talked online for many different durations before meeting in real for the first time Steve . It's whatever feels right for the individual. It sounds from what you have said , that you will need to make it happen when your girl can get some leave time from her work .
Im pretty sure one of the conditions of getting a Fiancee visa, is that you have to prove that you have met.. Im not 100% sure on it, but i think so.
