    Hi,
I'm a newbie to the forum. My fiance and i are in the process of sorting our application for a spouse visa ( getting married on the 18th!) so i thought i'd join to get some insights on how it's done.
We have most of our documents in place, had my LifeSkills test too, just need to schedule a TB test after the wedding, and i think we're ready to go!
Anyways, i look forward to meeting new people and getting to know the country that I will, hopefully, call my own too, getting help and maybe someday, being of some assistance too.

    Cheers!

    Thanks!

We'll have a simple ceremony in a farmhouse in Cavite.

And where do you plan to live? Will the ceremony be carried out by a minister?

The reason I'm asking is that you will need to prove that your marriage was conducted strictly in accordance with Filipino law if you hope to move to Europe.

    From: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/standard_letter_confirming_that

Only a UK court of law can determine whether a particular marriage
is valid under UK law. It is not possible to register in the UK a
marriage celebrated in a foreign country. Generally
speaking however, if a ceremony is considered valid in the country
where the ceremony was performed;both parties to the marriage had
the capacity to marry under the law of the country of domicile; and
both parties of the marriage consented to marry the other, then the
marriage is likely to be recognised in the UK.

    Likely?????

Congratulations and good luck. It might cost a couple of hundred pounds, but have your plans checked before you go through with them. My advice - from someone who could have made this partof his life much easier!
