My daughter is due to be born in the Philippines very soon. My wife is Phillipino with no visa yet as we postponed until after the birth. I know the visa process for my wife. Should I get a UK pasport for my child...if so Does anyone have a step by step guide to this process. Please only a step by step guide like the visa application process. No opinions only facts please.
Hi we just got son's first British passport, took about 4 months to process and I had to attend an interview here in the UK. I recommend getting the Philippines passport first as it only take a few weeks and a full colour photocopy is needed in the supporting documents. I filled out the online application and paid, then my wife printed and signed the application and sent it to me with other documents to send to Liverpool. Documents submitted were Printed and signed application form Passport photos with countersignature and there is a section they need to fill out and sign Ultrasound records and hospital records Sons NSO birth certificate Photos of me and wife during pregnancy, in the hospital at birth and various ages after birth and as a family with our other daughter Wife's birth certificate Our marriage contract Advisory of marriages certificate, your wife needs to apply for a cenomar and she will get this certificate stating she is married My uk birth certificate Both my parents birth certificates My parents marriage certificate My original passport and my wife's original passport at time of conception A valid picture ID card showing wife's address, we sent her postal ID card I'm pretty sure this was all we sent This all gets sent to Liverpool but add a note saying which documents you want returned to you if your in the UK and which can go back to the Philippines when the passports issued. Write the application number on the front of the envelope when you send it. Like I said it took about 4 months, they received documents early June and we got the passport early October with an interview in September Hope some of this info can help you out
