    Good Evening,

My fiance from Philippines is due to return from the Philippines to Scotland this Friday on a fiance / marriage visa.

We plan on being married in the next few months.

    We are expecting a baby.

My question is when my fiance returns, can we simply register with our local medical practice, as my fiance is pregnant and will need to frequent nhs will we qualify as she is from teh Philippines.

Any advice would be most welcomed.

Yes. Register with the local practice. My wife had to show her passport upon registration. Other than that it went smoothly.

Our baby was born while my wife was on her spouse visa. She had the full and normal support of the NHS throughout.

My understanding is that the same applies to those on a Fiance visa.

    When is the baby due?

Interesting question especially as it has been alluded to that fiancé visa applications don't pay the NHS charge. I'm thinking there won't be a problem registering. Would any payment be involved? I don't think so. My advice would be to get the marriage undertaken sooner rather than later. Pay the NHS charge on FLR and at least you know you're covered then.
