I have decide to take the advice implicite in your preceeding thread header Dom although the subject is somewhat diferent Since my return to the UK in May I have been supporting my sweetheart and daughter due to an augument she had with her dad a day befor my return This meant she did not return to work and carry on handing her salary over as usual untill my return and I left her with a months money plus enough to get her passports and a room together it was a situation I had not anticipated and knowing her for only a few weeks not my normal instinct but in the cicumstances felt the only thing to do if we were going to continue and she could be sure of my support in her life. She lost some money to a pickpocket which I happily replaced she paid for her elder sister to return to Cebu settled a utang run up in her name(my name lol) by the family and was subject to critisism by relatives for not sharing her blessings (my money?) and renting a room for her and her daughter. But for me the icing on the cake was here during our couple of days getting to reknow each other she said she didnt bring her cell phone that i bought her as she was scared to have it snatched on route to the airport so I was delighted to hear that it has been pawned by the family yesterday for 1,200 piso and as I type she is I hope collecting it and finaly arriving with all her worldly possesions to start a life with me. I have never felt so disrespected or met such crazy people before who have effectively killed the goose befor it could be hatched and I will be following your advice lol and wont be paying anymore except for my family culture is one thing taking the piss quite another
Sounds familiar... I got a text out of the blue last week or maybe a week before that. Begging me for money from my ex saying her kids and family were sick. Well, I didn't reply. And did take a quick snoop onto her facebook to see her bragging and moaning about the men in her life Though perhaps now with my lack of response (to what sounded like near death illnesses) means this cash cow has had the last of its milk drank.
Im feeling much happier today have moved out of the city and hopefully out of easy reach of the gossip and movies
Well nearly a month has passed and the long awaited text arrived "you are famous ,so many trips out (in fact 1 trip to see the Dolphins) the people in the villiage are laughing that we are not yet rich, I (sister) have decided to stop my work as its not enough money to make any difference, Why you dont share your blessings?( gosh I should give Jhean an allowance so she can give it away???) Why work when you can starve !!! I have also learned of the many friends and relatives who have held out there hands only to be told by my Honey "I dont have money" Why they find this hard to believe I honestly have no Idea Its not that im unsympathetic to helping either just the approach is 100% backwards to acheive the objective I guess I just resent being thought of as "stupid" The positive side is that it speeds up the bonding process with my Wife to be and her delightful little daughter
