(Elson Elizaga is a professional photographer in Cagayan de Oro) I set my alarm clock to wake me at dawn today so I could bring out the trash but it wasn't necessary. I was startled with a feeling of worldwide disturbance, and it took moments for me to realize, in the darkness, that a group of devotees were singing, using a loudspeaker in the park chapel about 100 meters away, accompanied by the complaint of about 30 atheist dogs who were also roused from their sleep. Then came the Islamic call for prayer from the mosque, magnified by a loudspeaker, too, louder and more inspired than usual. After awhile, absorbing this cacophony of spiritual music, I heard the familiar hum of the garbage truck. In all mornings, it always come as a phenomenon, but today its presence was relatively polite and hushed. I opened the gate and saw the orange lights in the distance, like the eyes of the spirit bus in the Japanese film Totoro. Go, garbage, go -- I thought, as I rolled our huge black pail, and gave it to a large man with the happy face of forgiveness.
The internet is marvelous. We can access so much. Anyone who wants to blog can do it. Anyone who wants to share can do it. Fortunes can be made and fame may be just a heartbeat away. Going virul has a different meaning. Personally I'm really taken with YouTube. IMO it has to be the best resource to spring from the internet. And Blogs. I love blogs. Some are just wonderful and display huge talent. I feel so lucky to have been around in these days since the start of the 'White-Heat' of technology. Click!!!
