as some of you know--i'm either going to fly over and get wed--probably october--or she will apply for fiancee visa as soon as she gets her tb cert---hopefully late sept. i think the latter could be the quicker way to get her settlement visa. once shes got that i can relax.

but--has anyone had any recent experience of proving ongoing devotion on a fiancee visa app ? i our case it will be 21 months since we were last together--although we chat most days on facebook--sometimes for hours--like today.

has anyone been turned down because of insufficient evidence of ongoing devotion? if so--how did you overcome it?

or am i being paranoid ?

The latter would be best i think and i hope she gets the TB cert then!!
Oh No, Don't be paranoid or i will also be!! :v :v
Me and my future husband has been apart also for 22 months now, but our love and devotion gets getting stronger!!!That is how TRUST and faithfulness to each other can do !
    I don't think it would affect, and i pray it won't!And i'm sure it won't !
You would know once we get the visa approved soon!We will test the water for you @bigmac :)

You can only use your chat logs as evidence of a sustaining relationship, twenty two months is a long time but you have a history of living together which can only be in your favour. You could also use the sending of Birthday/Anniversary presents as evidence, remittance too.

Remember, the conditions of the visa only state that you have met, there is nothing stating time apart.

Yes thank you @Timmers,we knew that too.We also have photos of our Spiritual Vow , in the presence of our families and closest friends, (pending "Legal" which will be in his hometown) and of course the remitttance.Im trying to get as much screen shots as i can from our FB page ,with friends making comments too.

A trip out there Bigmac, in the interim, wouldnt do any harm to the application.

one thing we did do--when she was here before january last year--was to put me on her UK bank account. i pay in this end--she draws PP that end. ( oddly enough--only seems to work one way !!! )
i suppose this implies ongoing devotion ?

I believe so. Yes. You would have to submit supporting documentation, of course.
