Opening a Bank Account on Fiance Visa

    I see, you just reminded me, I need to get the missus to apply for a credit card, its good to get the credit history wheels turning whether you need it or not.

    Was able to open a basic account with Lloyds Bank.

    Just proof of address then a visa that is valid more than 3 months.

    I wonder if a brit can change an existing account to a joint account easily or easier.

    my mrs opened a lloyds current a/c when she was in the uUK on her student visa (2008-12)
    in 2013 she got a visit visa and spent 6 months with me. in that time she added me to her a/c.
    after her return to the filis==2014, i deposited money into her a/c so she could draw it over there .

    4 years on--she still has the a/c...her salary goes in to it..i draw on it for household bills.
    oh--and it includes AA cover..which saves me £70 a year.
