    Hi gud eve...

Just wanna ask f there is an instance that an over age children can be petition by parents who were under ILR. Let's say more than 25 yrs old..... Or do they really have to accept the fact that there is no chance for them unless they study or marry a uk citizen or be wealthy enough to migrate on their own...thank u and have a nice eve....

Not sure on this one! I know the rules are slightly different and there is a route for family reunification, it remains very difficult for the adult child to join their family here in the UK.

I know of a few people on ILR (but not British citizens) who send money home to adult children who can never join them in the UK.

The answer is unfortunately "no" and I can say that from personal experience. My former wife was a young Russian widow with two young children, a girl aged 9 and a boy of 16 (at the time of our marriage). When we applied for my then fiancée's visa, the British Consulate in St Petersburg made it abundantly clear to us that we would need to obtain visas for her children before their 18th birthday, they would not be granted visas after that milestone. If you read the current visa application forms you will see a notice stating that you can not include any children who are over the age of 18.

My fiancee wanted her children to complete their education in Russia, especially her son whom she felt would not make the transition to an English school at all easily (given his age). In the end her daughter came immediately and her son remained in St Petersburg until just over six months before his 18th birthday. The timing of his departure was crucial because, like all Russian teenage boys, his international Passport** expired exactly 6 months before his 18th birthday and could not be renewed until after he had completed four years' compulsory military service.

** Russians also have a domestic Passport for use when travelling within the Federation.

The minimum length of stay that they grant is 6 months. There are also longer validity dates (I have 2 years) but it would cost more upon application and they can downgrade you or refuse the visa and not refund the money. However, you can only stay up to 6 months at a time.

This is also not verified by the UKBA but a b*tchy immigration officer told me that I can only stay a maximum of 6 months in a year's time. This happened because I was going in and out of the UK last year but I haven't even consumed the 6 months, she just assumed that I am almost over 6 months.

I currently have a 2 year Family Visit visa which expires this December. Got it because my husband is British and we have no plans of immigrating to the UK yet.

To be on the safe side, wait 6 months from your date of last exit from the UK before entering again. Having kids will help as it makes the risk of one being TNT lower.

Yes, they will arrange it for you. Just make sure you have all the documents required.

Just to note, you have to explicitly apply for a longer visa (2, 5, 10 years) or else they will just issue you the standard one.
