Has anyone got any experience or information on how it is viewed when a visitor stays longer than the period mentioned in the visit visa application, but still goes home within the granted 6 month period? Does it affect further visit applications? Is it frowned upon? Thanks in advance for your thoughts, comments, help.
Don't know John, Ana doesn't need a visit visa as she gets a six month stamp on entry when she comes here (dual national Filipino/Korean) given that she always arrived here penniless I always gave her a supporting letter and once I said she would be here for a month and then stretched it to 3 months, as there is no passport check on exit from the UK apart from the reporting by the airline I'm not sure if they even stitch the information together well enough for them to know that someone left a bit later than they said they would, I also can't see that they can have any legal objection as the tourist visa is a six month visa.
my mrs stayed till the end of her 6 month visit visa--back in 2014. still got her settlement visa ok.
Does this mean when you get a visitor visa it is for 6 months as standard even if you ask for 6 weeks?
My now wife, stayed the full duration of her visit visa on 2 occasions (I invited her for 3-4 weeks each time), on her 3rd application for a visit visa she was declined on the grounds of staying longer than she was invited for. We're annoyed at the system, despite compliance with the rules, so we got married this month in the philippines and are now starting a spouse visa application. David
i understand UKVI are on the lookout for those who try to come over for half a year each year. either using the UK as a holiday home or avoiding the settlement visa fees.
