The members living in situ, will be able to give a more detailed explanation of the various pitfalls of overstaying in the Philippines. Personally I, and others here, have taken great care in NOT overstaying, as it may have had implications in returning. But be extremely prepared to have to pay very heavy fines and maybe deportation (at your cost) at the end of it. One has to consider that this info could be out of date, and new guidelines may have been issued in regard to overstaying.
Aromulus' post is I believe up to date as far as the fines and charges are concerned but they are not necessarily the only sanction BoI has at its disposal. As other governments crack-down on Filipinos who overstay, so does the Philippines with respect to overstaying foreigners. At worst, you can be deported and blacklisted in addition to having to pay all the fines and charges that are outstanding and that can be following a stay at the BoI "hotel" at Bicutan. You need to regularize your stay as soon as possible and NOT leave it to the last minute as you may otherwise be prevented from leaving the country.
Try to make this the first and the last time you overstay, if there is a possibility of a ban as some have suggested here then it is not a risk worth taking especially if you are there with your loved one.
Just had a friend come back from Manila to fix his 14 month overstay.. He paid his fines and missed visa fee`s..I think he said 90K all in all. Unfortunately he could not get this done in his local B.I office or even in Cebu.. Had to be in Intramuros. It may be because his overstay was over 6 months.. Not sure.
The cost of your two month extension together with your Tourist ACR-I Card should come to no more than Php 10,000. On top of that you will have fines totalling Php 1,000 and Motions for Reconsideration fees of Php 1,000. The Immigration Inspector may require your letter(s) of explanation and apology to be notarised; that can cost up to Php 1,000. You may also have a further two Express Lane fees of Php 500 each, thus bringing your total to Php 14,000. Depending on your length of stay, you may also be required to obtain an Exit Clearance Certificate from the BoI at a cost of Php 2,880.
No, no, the contributions to the BoI Christmas Party and their annual picnic are already included under "Express Lane fees".
I ended up staying in Manila linger than expected and completely forgot to get my extensions done, ( actually didn't even think. About it to be honest) Overstayed from Feb 17Th until June 4th got charged 13,700 no need for ecc ( only need this if longer than 6 months) , but if a slap on the wrist from the officer but that was about it. I flew out the next day and cam back a few days later no problem
