Hi all my wife's passport is about to run out soon, got an appointment for the Philippine embassy on Thursday this week. The thing is the passport is in her maiden name and not her married name. How do I change her name on the passport? Many thanks and I love this site
This might help - https://londonpe.dfa.gov.ph/consular-matters/passport#epassport_adultchange - See 'Renewal of Passport WITH NAME CHANGE' section
Bear in mind that the passport and BRP name must be the same. This is a must.( Can't remember where you are up to on your visa journey @j charleston You won't have any issues with your wife keeping her maiden name in her passport. We decided we will change wife's passport name once she applies for citizenship
I guess it's down to personal choice/preference, but what @Mattecube says is of paramount importance - if you change name in ONE you MUST change the other 'within a reasonable time'! There is also an option to extend the current passport, because of the pandemic - details are at the link I gave previously.
Ok she can't open a bank account with the maiden name this is what the bank said even though we showed them the marriage certificate, And she now has a job and we need to get the national insurance number sorted. Thank you everyone for the reply's
The NI number and name again should be the same as BRP. The Nationwide let us in wife's married name when we showed marriage certificate and her passport in her maiden name and 2 proof of addresses.
My wife has a Metrobank current account in her maiden name, she just provided them with a few ID documents, Card issued to her there and then.
