Hi kuya it was good to read some of your blogs and your experiences in manila , with your fiance joy , and i understand what you mean , when you said about it seems like months and years of planning before you meet , i met my fiance lejani in bacolod city in december 2011 , after two years of exchanging letters and we became engaged , i to purchased her ring from a jewelry store in the sm mall , and in the course of the month i was there i also met a lot of her family members , and we also travelled to her birthplace in hinoba an on a day trip , amazing scenary , and a trip also to her uncle and aunts and cousins in san carlos , and a trip to the beach there , and another place called manapla to visit more of her family , are you and joy married yet or is that a plan for the future , i myself am returning to the philippines in april this year and plan to marry in may , and i have spent the last year rsearching all my requirements and studying about the spouse visa , and reading about other couples experiences , the thing that most concerns me at the moment is i read about peoples experiences with advance endorsement of the marriage certificate , and some people who have been lucky and used the right procedure , and got there marriage certificate back from nso in two weeks , and other people who have had to wait two months , it seems like you have to do your homework and follow the right procedure with the advance endorsement , sorry if i go on but it is good to share experiences , anxietys and worries . salamat for now kuya from paulejani .

HI all can anyone put me straight on the subject of writing a sponsor letter of support for my to be wife , and does it need to be notarized , i have seen a sample letter by someone who was sponsoring the visit of there fiancee to germany and this was called a AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT AND GUARANTEE , and it had been done by a notary public , so i am a bit confused as to if my letter is ok to just be handwritten by myself and later typed , and if it is necessary to have it done by a notary public salamat all paulejani.

A sponsor's supporting letter is not strictly necessary
However most folks do actually provide one to the Embassy supporting the application.

It's a good opportunity to outline how and where you met, how long you have been together, how you have maintained contact, important events and meetings between yourselves, and plans you have made for living in the UK (specifically, why you are opting to live in the UK).
Keep it as simple as possible and above all be honest about everything.

If there are any remaining, complicated or unusual circumstances about your application it should be clearly explained here.
In such cases it's always considered best practice to cross-reference between the explanation in the letter and the submitted evidence.

It's not necessary to have such a letter notarised.

hi micawber i need some information regarding certificate of no impediment , i have the locality in which the marriage is to be solemnized as lapu lapu city mactan island province of cebu philippines , but now we have decided that we wish to marry in bacolod city negross occidental , as this is the city my fiancee has been resident worked and voted etc the longest duration , and because she has only been resident in lapu lapu city for a period less than 6 months it is a problem regarding obtaining certificate of residency so therfore , we have decided to change the location of our marriage to bacolod city , does my cni still cover me for marriage in bacolod , because it has locality of marriage as lapu lapu , and her adress place of residence also in lapu lapu .

What documents has your wife taken to Olvis?
    What kind of Visa?

I am left to guess what this letter might be. I am assuming it might be for a Spouse Visa. If so then the only required letter as I recall was a signed Joint Statement.

Assuming that it is the Joint Statement that you refer to then it is a summary of your relationship together. IE when and where you met and for how long you have known one another. If you have lived together and how the relationship has panned out. How you keep in contact if and when you are apart. That sort of thing. We wrote ours in the form of a brief story. About a page and a bit in total.

hi thanks john ash for your reply yes my wife took our documents to the olvis office to start our spouse visa application , and then they sent me an email and online form to fill out and i completed this , and submit it back to them and next they sent me a list of requirements needed , the first one number 1 it says entry clearance this is a letter address to the entry clearance office , then the next requirement number 2 , is a how we met statement detailing your relationship with your wife so maybe i am getting confused here and they mean the how we met statement should be addressed to the entry clearance office , it is annoying because i had already included a support letter maybe because my letters were not address'd to the entry clearance office , maybe this is why they request , a how we met statement , and a letter of support , both addressed to the entry clearance office , and also i have to fill in the appendix 2 financial requirement form but been having trouble , because i got on the ukba webpage then clicked on appendix 2 and when i tryed to put a x in the box to answer nothing happened at not sure where to submit this form once completed , i have replied to olvis and asked them for some help about appendix 2 form , so any informatio would be very much apreciated as this is giving me a headache he he thanks paulejani .
