    Good morning all....

We are close to making an appointment and handing in our visa application.

My wife went to the PSB bank and we can only put peso's into their prepaid Mastercard and not USD so we are unsure how to pay it.

Can my wife just type in my name and numbers from my UK visa debit card to pay for the visa. I am guessing the transaction will be taken out in USD from my UK bank account????

Or does anyone know of a prepaid card in the Philippines that we can load with UDS???

    Thanks again Guys

    Kind Regards.......

I would expect that if you used your own card issued by a UK bank etc that it would deduct the amount in dollars and convert it. Thats what normally happens on any overseas transaction I make.

    Thank you John.

That is what I thought. I wonder if the same would apply to the prepaid cards from western union or the PSB Bank in the Philippines

For sure western union and PSB Bank in the Philippines do do prepaid visa and mastercards. In the Philippines My wife can only load with peso... My worry is when she goes to pay the visa online with the card... Does it automatically convert the peso's into the required currency USD

If nobody is sure here, try emailing VFS Manila. They will be able to tell you.

I got a quick reply from the visa centre,

Please be informed that starting December 19, 2012 and onwards, all visa application fees must be paid online. Only VisaCard or Mastercard are acceptable.

Kindly fill-up the details requested from the online payment page as cautiously as possible to avoid failures on making payments. If your payment is refused, you should first check that you have entered the correct credit or debit card details. Also, please visit this link for more information of the online payment, http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/countries/online/payment/?langname=null.

You may also try other credit card or debit card from any of your friends, families or relatives, provided it is with the consent of the account holder. International accounts are still accepted as long as these are either Visa card or MasterCard (Credit or Debit cards). Also, please note that the visa application fee from the online application are automatically converted into US dollars. The system will automatically deduct the payment from the card the amount of the visa application fee equivalent to the currency of the account. A successful payment will also be confirmed by email.
