Hi, i need some help. I applied for fiancee visa September paid for the SMS update, waited til November but never received any updates tru email or SMS about my application status. I decided to send them email last day and they responded saying, (... the Entry Clearance Officer (ECO) has noted that your sponsor is an EEA national and has a Registration Certificate issued on ***** but does not have permanent residency as yet in the UK so he is not considered to be settled.) So I think he(we) needed to wait again til he become 5 years in the UK. My question, how long does it takes for him to apply for a permanent residency so i can proceed on my visa application? Please send me links or any infos about permanent residency in UK for EU nationals if possible. He thought it's not needed as he wasn't informed when he get his Registration Certificate before & he is living in UK for more than 8 years already as an EU citizen. I supposed to be in the finish line of my first agony (sorry for calling this agony) when i suddenly stumbled down, now i think i need to drink more green tea. Thank you in advance.:)

Your fiancé can apply for Permanent Residency in the UK once he has completed a full five years living and working in the country; it is not granted automatically as of right. Once he has that, you can then re-submit your application for a fiancé visa - and you will have to pay again.

Normally to get the permanent residency confirmation, should only take a few weeks.

An expensive oversight Anbrianna as you will have to pay for the Fiancée visa application again, "a person who hasn't made mistakes hasn't done anything", a saying we have in the UK.

It will turn out fine in the end :)
