    Hi guys, i have heard there are two different addresses in Sheffield to send documents to, the one i have from the VFs site is;
Settlement Applications, International Operations and Visas
    PO Box 5852
    Sheffield
    United Kingdom
    S11 0FX

Is that the correct address ?.

That is also the one we used and did get the documents back eventually. The other address is in the email back after the application is submitted and does not include the PO Box. From what I have read both work although in hindsight my preference would be the one in the email.

Depending on how you send documents you may need to use one or the other as a lot of couriers do not deliver to PO Box addresses.

Other address is below and to note uses family migration in title so may route it s bit quicker. That is a guess however.

Settlement (Family Migration) Applications - International Operations and Visas, 6 Millsands, Vulcan House, Sheffield, United Kingdom, S3 8NU

So I flew to Manila for Christmas as the decision was still not received. We found out a few days ago that a decision had been made but had to wait to receive the passports back. It's a yes! The visas for my wife and step daughter have been approved!!! I want to thank all on this site for their advice and support, it is so very much appreciated. Now we can and we know, we are sitting looking at the Manila skyline making plans for our future

Thank you. We found out the day after I arrived here but had to wait for the passports to come back so what with the holidays the wait has been painful! All over now, I leave Manila on the 4th, wife and step daughter will follow mid January after sorting things out here. It won't be so hard saying goodbye this time!

Congratulations and best wishes for the future.

Out of curiosity what travel date did you request originally and what was the issued vignette start and finish dates ? Still awaiting outcome of our visa and have just gone past start of requested travel date so wondering what window to expect.

We asked for a travel date of 2nd January 2019 and received passports back 26th December 2018 with vignette valid from 26th December 2018 until 25th January 2019.

    Thanks.

Had heard that they issued vignette earlier than the planned travel date and obviously true that it is issued about a week before the planned travel date

Firts of all Happy New Year. I would like to congratulate you both on your visa. My husband and I are about to take the same journey you have succesfully completed. so much confusion to wade through. stress levels are high even thinking about it never mind the anticipation you went through. I am Filipino and my husband is English.

Do you have a phone number where my husband can call to clarify few points? if you dont mind. completely understand if not, some people dont mind and some do so I appreciate that. Thank you

    That is correct for you.

For your son it will child of settled person as sponsor will be your husband. As step son under UKVI guidance he is treated same as his child.

Have a look for my threads and postings as I have made a number of postings about this scenario as my wife is awaiting the visa application that we made for her and her two children so may have a number of answers already in my postings.

Worth detailing the situation with regards to your son as he is likely to be the challenge. This will seem harsh but have posted the same else where. For your son the ideal VISA scenario is that there is no father on the birth certificate or his father has died and you have the death certificate and ideally the fathers birth certificate.

If it is not that then worth posting the details about the father - basic stuff such as nationality, whether alive, dead or unknown, whether in contact with the boy, whether you were married when the boy was born or married afterwards and country the father lives in now if still alive. This is an area where you may need specialist advice from an immigration lawyer and likewise you may want others advice on what the potential problems are. Likewise worth detailing whether you have been responsible for his care since birth or whether you had other people looking after him. You will want evidence that you have been solely responsible for his care and important decisions such as medical, school etc.

@bigmac has had problems on this one and I think there are others who have had problems.

@Stevembe had letter from stepson father who was living outside philippines detailing no objection to son moving to UK and they then wanted copy of passport to verify fathers signature. If that is your scenario then may be worth getting both of those now for the application.

There will be other scenarios depending on your circumstances but to many to guess.

I'm waiting to find out about the stepson with father's name on birth certificate but for whom we has a copy of the death certificate. His visa application is a worry for me even though I think I have covered all issues.

    Best of luck.
