Can anyone with the required paperwork get married in the Philippine Embassy in Manila? I appreciate that it's not the most romantic of places to tie the knot but may help us in knowing that it's done right and the paperwork should be correct. We could always have a nice service again for her friends and family closer to her home. We are way off being in that position yet anyway but it's all food for thought. any help would be much appreciated. Regards John Jones
Checked this out but doesn't reall give information on whether services for opposite sex marriages take place there.
Sorry, but I've read the link before I posted it. Under Marriage and Civil Partnerships (https://www.gov.uk/government/world/organisations/british-embassy-manila), click getting married abroad. You'll then be directed to this page where you can start your query. https://www.gov.uk/marriage-abroad For opposite sex, your query will lead you to this site https://www.gov.uk/marriage-abroad/y/philippines/uk/partner_local/opposite_sex For same sex marriages, https://www.gov.uk/marriage-abroad/y/philippines/uk/partner_local/same_sex
i cant see the point. your philippine marriage will be valid in the UK. plenty of others have done it.
Thanks very much for your help Dav3&Ai5a. I have read the link as soon as you sent the initial message. But I see nothing that says that the Embassy will carry out a Wedding service if required. Which is what I was asking in the original post. Or am I being dull and missing something?
The British Embassy is not permitted to conduct weddings except where the celebrants are of the same sex - because that ceremony can not be held elsewhere in the Philippines.
