Hey, so I'll be going back to UK for around 6 months, maybe upto a year, not sure yet.

I have a Philippines driver license but only a provisional in the UK, I left uk before getting my full license.

Can I drive for upto a year on the Philippines license? Even though I'm a British national?

I would say yes see this link

Obtaining car insurance or the use of a hire car might be costly

Not sure what the answer to your question is for sure, but I'm doubtful. Last time I was back in UK couple of years ago with my wife, I rented a hire car. I wanted to add her as a named river but they wouldn't agree based on her having only a File DL.

You can drive in the UK on a Filipino licence for up to 12 months.
However as I said in my earlier post you might meet some residence from car hire companies and car insurance companies

Yes agreed, but if insurance companies won't insure you, you're buggered.
