There are two new extremely right wing News channels opening up in the UK this year, UK News run by Andrew Neil and the second Rupert Murdoch is launching something based around the USA Fox News model, both of which will play to extreme right wing opinion in this country. What's the betting that this character ends up on one of them.
Piers has got the knack of getting the best (and worst) of people he interviews, and in that respect he's a brilliant jouralist. His time at GMB saw audience numbers surge. But he can also play the audience really well. People like his blunt honesty, something thats missing. But in these days of PC, woke, etc, he's become a liability. He's clearly pushed his luck too far this time, maybe he was looking for a way out, he's got plenty of money, he doesn't need to work. As for Harry/Meghan, I think the UK press should be collectively prosecuted for harassing the couple to the extent that have to leave the UK. The Daily Fail/Fail Online are the prime suspects. I'm all for press freedom, but in this case, they need taking down a peg or two. Harry and Meghan are human beings first and foremost, trying to raise a family, but are getting all this rubbish from UK press and TV. Yes they went on TV to explain their actions to put their side of the story, but no, they are not allowed to be human. Once the Queen expires, the Royal Family will be irrelevant. We can then look forward to a move towards becoming a Republic.
Maybe I'm naïve but why do they need to look at websites that they should know is full of nonsense? They want to stroke their ego's and shouldn't be too surprised if they don't see what they want all the time. Republic? Yes, Rob, I hope it will happen one day also. I thought things would start to change when there were no flags flying at half mast when Diana died. They seem to be entrenched but for how much longer?
