I had problems downloading something from Companies House website a while ago. I contacted their helpline who said the downloads did not work in Chrome! Rather surprising as Chrome was, even then, the most used web browser. As I was using a Chromebook I was a bit stumped, since the only browser available on that platform is Chrome. So, I still need a Windows machine.

Most of my development is WebForms specifically for our extra/intranet servers.

Our European office has done some recent (and sub-contracted) front-end web development (customer - product ordering) which is works well in Chrome/FF but is less "focused" for IE.

It is an embarrassingly bad web site for major bank, aesthetically ugly and functionally weak.

I could have sworn that two days ago the "Read our latest announcement" section showed details about something from 2011.

Their "coverage" calculation for the PAL competition appears strange, I guess they just forgot to increment (add 7 to) the from date?

I like the "For Customers in France" link towards the bottom of the page.

The linked-to page is in English!

It is all fairly poor but to be honest in the years we've been using them this is the first time I've had problems. Some of the outfits we used before where really bad and you just din't know if the money was ever going to make it due to them changing bank accounts once every 3 months or so, so you'd end up putting your money into a "dead" account. But couple this with trying to registar a new debit card as well which could take 24hr to complete and I may have to go back to western union and do another couple transfers at 6 quid a pop!!

Amazingly WU are doing zero fee transfers to the Philippines with very good exchange rates, I cannot believe it will be a permanent thing they still charge usurious rates for all the other countries, but right now they are a hell of a good deal I sent a small test yesterday and am waiting for it to appear in the bank account once it does I will report back.

The western union appeared today as well as another amount that I thought was cancelled!! No idea where that has come from to be honest as I thought my other transactions had been cancelled, it says its via IRS. Very strange
