Hi I am Colin and I have lived the dream here for 2 years. Finally after many attempts my Girlfriend and I are expecting a child. Before we knew this we tried to go to the UK with her on a general visitors visa but have been refused 2 times. Now since the last excursion to Manila she has fallen pregnant and we wish t re apply. her son aged 4 is trying to get his UK passport ( Another father) ...dont ask hahaha. has anyone any ideas how we should proceed. My mom is on her way out Bowel Cancer and I would love her to meet my gf before she pops her cloggs. Normal reasons for my gf refusal . cant sustain life style I am not showing income etc etc but nothing hideous. Please help if you can.
I take it that you're in the Philippines then? I'm guessing you're applying for a tourist visa? There are others here that know more about it than I do, but I believe that you need to show paperwork which gives assurance that she will return to the Phils. I Believe that this usually takes the form of evidence of a job, of owning property and of strong family ties (for example kids at school) that would compel her to return there. What documents did you provide on the two refusals? I would suggest that she addresses the reasons given in those refusal letters..
Yes. As said, definitely review the previous refusals and make sure you're able to counter the stated reason to fully comply. You might find this very recent thread provides some ideas:- http://www.british-filipino.com/index.php?threads/visit-visa-sponsor.11489/#post-95331
In regards to the son, you could apply for his British passport. But the processing would most likely take long (8 months and more) since it's not a 'straight-forward' application. A DNA test will most likely be requested by HMPO. I hope your wife or son still has contact with the ex-husband/father, else the process will take even longer.
This may or may not have any impact. I haven't reviewed the detail.
