i am aware of a female temporary healthcare visa holder and her dependant husband have now started a family, therefore the child will be born during the 3 year visa term. Does this mean the child will be a british citizen ? Is this just a ploy to overstay ?
What happens if a foreigner gives birth in the UK? "); display: inline-block; height: 24px; width: 24px; transform: rotateZ(180deg);"> Being born in the UK doesn't automatically make a baby a British citizen. The baby needs to have a parent with British citizenship or settled status in the UK in order to be British. If your baby isn't a British citizen, they can remain in the UK without making an immigration application.
lets see what happens when the 3 year work visa expires. i cant help thinking the government has bought itself a whole load of trouble.
There are issues with not regularising in that dont have NHS cover after first three months - advice in this situation is get medical insurance or pay for NHS treatment. If they leave the country then child would need visa to come back. Think may be possible to stay in unregulatised status until parents get ILR when could be registered as British. Potential new government before parents get to three year point so lots of potential options. Can't see lots of new health and care staff appearing any time soon.
The woman is half way through her 3 year visa. She bought her husband over just before the rules changed preventing family members joining. So she will need marenity leave--how long for i dont know. Ive no idea if she is entitled to claim any benefits--including child care. How many other young female health workers got 3 year visas ? What an ill thought out mess by the outgoing goverment.
