    Hi,

My fiancée is now in the UK on the 6-month Settlement/Marriage Visa. We've booked Our wedding for 9th April, and the Visa ends on 31st July.

We'd be very grateful for any help or advice on how we now approach the Spouse Visa (which documents we're best including etc, where we make the initial application), and if the period from 9th April to 31st July is a long enough period for Us to apply for the Spouse Visa?

    Thanks for any advice!

your wife will need to apply for the first--of 2--Further Leave to Remain

she can apply as soon as she is married--same day service in person at a UKVI office --if you want to pay extra. this will get her a Biometric Residence permit--which means she is allowed to work--and also NHS cover .

If you apply for the spouse visa prior to the expiry of her current visa her immigration status will stay the same till you get the decision. She will be able to remain in the UK she would only have to leave the UK and apply if she was here on a " marriage visitor visa"

    Thanks!

Is there any guidance on what documents will be expected for the application? I'm struggling to find this info on the UK Gove site.

start the online application--go through all the questions--guess answers at this stage--if you need to. you can correct wrong ones later. you cant jump to the next page. there is a check list towards the end.
