So i finally got married in Philippines and spent the last 3 months there, I'm back in UK and my wife is in Philippines still, I'll be going over a couple of more times this year but what we are wanting is to bring her over for a few months next year as i will be moving there permanently at Christmas 2018, so we would like a few months together in UK before i do that so she can meet the family members who were unable to make our wedding.

Do we apply for a spouse visa or a tourist visa for her, I'm really not sure which is best.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I think the tourist visa will be the sensible option. Spouse visa will be expensive and it will be useless since you will move to the Philippines next year.

Whichever visa to opt for, be prepared for a lot of hassle and possible refusal. If you read the numerous threads on visas on this forum, you will get an idea of what you are in for. I'm about to apply for a visit visa for my wife and have put my chances of success at 50/50.
