Hey guys I'm currently doing a test run of the VAF4A and came across the question asking for my total income (as sponsor)from salaried employment in the 12 months prior to the application.

I have only been in this employment over 6 months so what should I provide?
6 months total as calculated from the wage slips??

    Cheers

Include salary from your previous employment.

On the form it asks how long you have been with your present employer and so on so if for example the previous salary didn't meet the financial requirement of £18,600 then it doesn't matter, it is your new job that counts, and the last six months payslips.

thanks for the quick reply Timmers. I have been employed more than the 6 months with this employer so should have jumped to another section.

Getting myself in a muddle already !

Be on standby though guys please ;)

Its good you're doing a dry run, makes it easier when you finally put pen to paper so to speak, take your time and get it right :)

Yes mate I printed off all the relevant docs and have filled in all I can on my part and put an asterisk for Irene where she needs to fill in.
Should narrow down any potential errors.
Posting all the bumf from my side Thursday and aim to have our application in by mid October :)
Will keep you all posted :)

Sending out my requirements as sponsor.
I have had 2 passports in my life. The first is completely blank.
Do I need to send it??

You just need to send a copy of your present passport preferably "signed as original seen" by a solicitor (only costs around £5 for this).

You can also copy the pages of your passport which have the entry/exit stamps of when you visited the good lady to tie in with your plane tickets.
