Hi everyone! Good day! I really need an advice I have this British father, he is a British citizen since birth. While my mom is a Filipina. I live in Philippines. They are not married but I use the surname of my father when mom DIED when I was 4 years old. He register it by the law here in Philippines. Still , no signature. It's been 5 years since my father last visited here in the Philippines. When ask why through phone call, his reason is that he has a sick and can't go here anymore. I'm over 18 right now and still and he didn't apply me the application for British citizenship. I told this to him. Is it possible to apply for British citizenship even though he is not cooperating anymore for the application? I also have a sister (same father) and we've been searching for an advisor who can help us with this. It's so complicated, and we can't do anything about it because we are not born with a silver spoon. We never talked for about months right now, but we have his contact number, it's so difficult for us to call him again when the charges is too big for us. I hope I can get back for someone who will reached this. Thank you!!
https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-british-parent/born-between-1983-and-2006 It would have been easier for you if your parents were married but the link for the UK Government website gives you the information you need to start. I think you will need the cooperation and help of your father to succeed with this.
If your parents were not married at the time of your birth you are classed under Philippines law as illegitimate, did your fathers name go on the birth certificate? Also you say he registered the birth but no signature if so you are going to really struggle with this. As @GJD223 says you need complete cooperation from your father.
Sadly, I struggle to please him about this. By the way, there's no name of him in my birth certificate
