Re-checking of Documents by HMPO

And just as I thought that I would be receiving my UK passport finally, HMPO decided to do a second-check/re-checking of my documents. I didn't think that was even possible.

Here is the previous letter they sent me, which said that my passport SHOULD BE ISSUED SHORTLY.

(I did not include the confirmation email from HMPO Bangkok which said they were done with the local security checks. Also other emails from Liverpool.)

It's as if they're treating me as a criminal or ISIS terrorist. Please, I'm not idealistic enough to join a terrorist group. And the only crime I'm guilty of is looking good and being smart.

Joking aside, it's too much. 1 year and 3 months now. Why can't they just ask me to do a blood-test or something to get every thing sorted out?

Just for a freaking passport! All the studying I did, and earning my diploma from my university was much, much easier than this.

Just because I was born in the Philippines and not the UK... sigh....

Bad news. The expression they use in the first letter is a little ambiguous. It does seem to imply that the passport is to be imminently issued, but it isnt emphatically clear on that.

    I know. Bad news indeed.

I had to contact the university that I applied to for a job in Wales, and told them my circumstances.

My friends and family are upset, especially my mother. I cancelled all my plans.

She told me that if it's just possible for her to transfer her UK passport to me instead, she would do so.
Funny thing is, the cover of her British passport has already faded and its just lying around in the living room. Hahahahhahaha...

And here I am desperately trying to acquire mine.

Why? Does your birthday have magic? Hahahhahaha...

Bad thing is, I have resigned from my job, and now out of work.
    A mistake again...

I know the world is unfair, but this is in the rant forum so I'm going to do just that...

    Apologies, I'm frustrated. Really.

    ----------------------------------

There are lots of young British there in the UK who have all the tools, all the assets, but they're just disregarding it. Government-funded schools, student loans, Centrelink, and the UK passport, which allows them to travel to almost any place in the world and seek employment. And even if they don't leave their backyard, there are heaps of golden opportunities there.

But what are a lot of them doing with those powerful assets?

My British cousins over there, all I hear from them is party, party, broke up with this, broke up that, met this chick, met this guy, holiday to this place... blah...blah...

Another cousin has an opportunity to go to Oxford, but no she wants to go to LA and try to be an actress. Far out!

I'm not going to the UK, to beg for Dole. Or be a bum in the streets. I'm going to seek for work, and try to get a better life.

I'm not applying for a UK passport, to go on a holiday. I'm doing it for a career, a livelihood.

Why is HMPO doing this? I have not been convicted of any crime-- even something as minor as littering. I keep all my litters inside my bag or inside the car, every time I travel and I just throw it away whenever I find a rubbish bin.

And I'm British, even though I was born here in the Philippines. Both my parents are, and I've got several documents to prove that. Even had a UK child passport.

So why Theresa May, Paul Pugh, Mark Thomson and the rest of those pompish a@@^&($!, for crying out loud?

    You're really silly.

I see how it's so important to you, the passport, when it comes, will be like a treasure because you'll look back and remember how hard it was to acquire it. Again, believe. There's no reason they should deny you of your right.

How comes it took you this long though before you applied for one?

Because I had need for it before and I've got a really complicated life. MMK/Telenovela that sort of thing, and I'm not even kidding, as much as I want to.

Like I said, I had a UK child passport before. But I only found out about it when I was 24, even though I know both my parents are British.

I only applied for a UK passport in the first place, because of a job offer from Chevron in Australia. I could not sign a contract with them because there's a stipulation with the Western Australian government that only Australian citizens or Western-passport holders could work in Barrow Island (where Chevron is located).

So no Philippine-passport holders like me. And the offer was rescinded. Probably I would have never applied for my UK passport, if I had been able to work for Chevron. I would have stayed there, spent the required years of residency, until I became an Aussie citizen.

So fast forward two years, here I am.

Your mom's a Brit as well? Ammp. It's starting to confuse me, I thought she was a Filipino and you were a half. Besides you look more Filipino than anything else.

So now instead of aiming to work and live permanently in Australia your goal is to find how it's like in the UK now?

My mum is a Filipina but naturalised Brit as well. Way way back in the 80s, when you just have to marry a Brit and instantly you're a British citizen as well.

Yes, gain employment and experience in the UK and see where it goes. That will open up a lot of other opportunities, I believe.

If things are not good in the UK, maybe I could go to Canada. Who knows what the future holds?

But a UK passport will be a key to opening up a lot of those doors.

It was like that before? Hmmp, I'm kinda patriotic and would not opt to change my citizenship. I think I would just be glad my future kids have both worlds.
Yeah, I understand what you mean. It should not be as hard as being a Filipino passport holder only. In fact it should be easy. At least I kinda understand your drive now. Your thirst of the world.

I hope so, but all I can do is wait and hope. I'm at the mercy of HMPO.

And I really want to have a taste of that oyster. Hahahahahah...
