YES YOU ARE MISSING SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT! YOUR WIFE MUST TAKE THE TB TEST AND OBTAIN THE TB TEST CERTIFICATE AND SUBMIT THAT CERTIFICATE WITH THE APPLICATION AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS. The strict requirements are that she take the test before that submit application button is pressed. In any event, the TB Test Certificate has to be submitted with the application pack and supporting documents when she visits VFS Global. If she takes TB screening after submit button is pressed but before the VFS Global that may be OK but only if she passes the TB screening!! If she fails TB screening or has not taken TB screening, you will have lost the Visa Application Fee!
My eyes went big when i saw TB screening is scheduled after visa application!!Good you posted it here before pressing the application button...be advised, get tb clearance cert first .
I just noticed another problem... You don't book the VFS Global appointment to hand in your application/supporting documents after paying for the application. You have to submit the application, book the appointment and pay on the Visa4UK website at the same time. So, that means if you are going to VFS Global in Cebu you have to pay the $101 on the Visa4UK website for the appointment you will have with VFS Global. If you miss the appointment with VFS Global, you have to start the whole Visa application process again and I think that means you lose your Visa application Fee (almost £1,000) and you lose any fee that you paid for the VFS Global appointment. I think it best not to submit your application until you have sent your partner all your supporting documents and make sure she has added her supporting documents to the application pack as well. Once you have done this then go ahead and make your on-line application in the knowledge that you have everything ready for your VFS Global appointment. Also remember that some people who undergo TB screening fail that screening (it happened to a friend of my wife) and even if your wife does pass the screening there are some cases where the TB certificate takes weeks arrive - not much good if you booked your VFS Global appointment before the TB certificate arrives as that is automatic refusal!
Hi all thanks for the input and certainly take on board the comments in particular the TB ones. Juby has all the supporting documents with her now I took them over on my last vacation April 15 and we have a very comprehensive list in the main ensured we followed Anne's list in a previous thread and we understand we confirm book and pay in the order of steps on the electronic application. The TB comments have I must admit corrected a potential mistake on our part and I thank all for pointing it out
I noticed you got married on 26 April. So, have you got your marriage certificate from the NSO or LRO? My understanding is that you probably require the NSO document (rather than the LRO document) for a UK Visa submission application.
Good luck with the application John, not long now and you'll soon be experiencing the weird surreal feeling you get when you pick the loved one up at the airport.
We are supposed to submit application last year yet, but IOM requested me for a 3 day sputum production after my xray, and made me wait 10 weeks for the result ,back again to Manila for the 2nd xray, only then i was given TB clearance , thus leaving us 3.5 months left of its validity.I just did another because the other one had expired while we waited for the yearly pension forecast. That was unexpected as i do not have lung problem .That was really waste of time and money.Hope it does not happen to you,So you better make sure you have your wife's TB clearance first .
ok we have our information packs ready to go, as per other threads but there are a few questions I seek clarity on the electronic application 1)How long do you intend to stay in UK? I take it the response is 3 years! not till I die 2)where do i finf the place of issue on my passport
Duration of visa would be a good answer, however am I correct in saying there is a drop box where you choose? You could have only had your passport issued at one of three offices, Newport, Peterborough or Liverpool. Good luck young man
Thanks for the responses no drop down box I thought it would be 3 years as per the 3 year route the apply for leave to remain!!! and cant remember which office it was issued from and cant see it on the passport
