    Greetings.

I've been living in the Philippines for several years now, arrived alone, met my wife here and we married in 2008.
We have travelled together to UK five times now, my wife got a Family Visit Visa, 'sponsored' by my Father as I have little assets in UK and don't own any property.
Seriously thinking of us both going to live in UK - I know most of the rules, ie, I have to prove I'm earning 18,600 GBP a year (no kids), have been in that job for minimum 6 months.
A couple of questions if you don't mind,,,,
Accomadation, would it be acceptable to live at my Fathers address? - he owns his house and has empty bedrooms available. (He is willing to allow this by the way!)
    Now, the tricky bit....lets sa

    Yes. Many have done that.

    Main points are:

    1. Your father has to state he agrees in writing.
    2. There has to be demonstratably enough rooms for all.

    Howzat?

    Hi Bigmac.

I went on to ask if it would be permitted for my wife to once again be in the UK on a Family Visit Visa during some of those first 6 months that i'll be working? (i.e. when all documents/pay slips/p60 etc; are complete, she can then apply in the Philippines for a Spouse Visa).

Cheers... and thanks a lot JonAsh (don't know if you only read part or all of my post).

Worth a try for the visit visa. You have succeeded once so a good chance it will be accepted twice. Though no gaurantees.

its a relatively low cost fee. but--the case officer will look for compelling reasons for your wife to return to the phils. now--if you were the case officer---what would you think ? they will be concerned your wife will try to stay here--thus avoiding the full spouse visa fee.

but--who knows----you might get one with a compassionate heart. as JA said---worth a try. i know i would. good luck--please keep us posted. others in the same boat.
