Should be a good weekend, though the venue has changed to: Apps Court Farm Hurst Road, Hampton Court Surrey KT12 2EG Also, there will be a free bus service carrying people from Waterloo, Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Earlsfield and Wimbledon stations. As you can see from the poster and the video it promises to be an amazing event for the summer! Closer to the time we will arrange where to meet up and what not. Will be good to see some of the faces behind those posts. So who's coming?
We religiously attended the last 5, and we ain't gooing to miss this one.:vhappy: I know that some friends of ours have already booked a hotel room nearby, and some others will make the trip too.
Sean, Where have you seen/read the bit about the "free bus service carrying people from Waterloo, Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Earlsfield and Wimbledon stations" ? Thks
Dom / Sean Apologies if it came across as a complaint, a criticism...... certainly wasn't meant to be. It just seemed strange, considering the distance involved. Additionally, a couple that I know expressed an interest in going, but they've no car, and this could have been ideal for them. Dom... unsure if I'll bother this year. Was at the Morden event on Saturday (which is much closer), and it was basically the same format as last year, and the year before etc etc. Same food stalls, same remittance companies, same real estate companies etc etc. Was pleasant enough....... but ....... But never say never.
I know exactly how you feel, because sometime I do feel a bit bored myself and look forward to getting on the road home again... But I tend to gracefully put up with it, because her indoors has generally a very good time and has a chance to meet a couple of relatives living in Kent and a few friends. Besides, she has a chance to look around for a few bits and bobs that our local asian shops don't normally carry in stock. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy going and taking part, but my attention span and patience factor are diminishing as age increases....
When we used to go,Id invite some drinking buddies to come along.. By 4 o'clock we were always as pissed as nits after thoroughly enjoying the show..and the Mrs drove us home!! Never got bored..Even once! These days there are Fiesta`s every other week!! A bit much,I must concede.
We wont be coming. There is normally something on each year here in the IOM though they don't call it a Barrio Fiesta. But from the sounds of it, it is one and the same kind of thing. 2000 filipinos here on an Island of 60,000 inhabitants - quite a high percentage!
Can't do it. We're in london earlier that month and there is no way I can afford two trips down there!!!
Sadly, despite saying we were going, Joy and me cannot attend this year! Too much on right now, house hunting and all that stuff..
Still not sure if we will bother and we live so near the location like we do Hounslow. But it looks a nightmare on public transport I can't belive the shuttle buses will keep up with peak time demand. Paying a tenner to park the car sounds a tad steep if you only in pop in for a few hours. With road works in the area and the roads in the area normally very very busy (plus i doubt the local population will know to avoid like they do in hounslow..)I think we will take a rain check at least on Saturday and see what people say.. Who on earth decided a London fiesta should be in Surrey and in such a remote place for many public transport using ofw's?
Andy long long time no post good to see you posting again! Me I can't manage down either, been away a lot recently, skint, dead car and just got paid
Thank you sir, sorry to hear that seems a lot of people I know have not been able to make it but looks like a number did made it from the few fb and twitter pics I have seen so far. The missus is still debating whether she goes tomorrow and is waiting for feedback from friends who went today (saturday)
