Hi good afternoon to all. My boyfriend was self employed for the last nine months. Within that period he already reach the 18 600 financial year requirement. But just last week the company he is working for hired him as direct to them he is not self employed anymore. My question is could this affect us on applying fiancee visa? Thank you so much in advance!
No. If you meet the financial requirement, all is well. Obviously he will be submitting more information proving his financial status (i.e. self employed and employed requirements).
You shouldn't have a problem as long as you make his financial position clear, there are one or two blank pages of the financial application form that are left blank, you can use these to explain he has changed from being self employed to being an employee. Make it clear that his new job pays more than the £18,600 requirement by including his contract of employment and a letter from his new company stating how much he earns, position is permanent and how long he has earned his present salary for. Don't just include his self employed financial paper work, bring it right up to date to include his new job, this way there will be no reason for the Case Officer to have any doubt over his present financial situation.
Very good advice from Timmers. If anything, if you follow Timmers' advice, the prospects are improved.
We are planning to apply fiancee visa on April or may this year as I'm here in UK under visit visa thank you so much for your reply!
You can not apply for a settlement visa whilst you are in the UK. You may only apply from the Philippines either in Manila or Cebu.
This is correct, Kriss. You need to apply from outside the UK. A visit visa cannot be exchanged for another.
